Steps to Join Homegroup from your Windows 10 PC or Laptop

Windows 10 is the current operating system which is being used by many millions of people across the world. As it is a new Operating system, some of them may not be knowing all the features present in it. Homegroup is a Windows offering functionality that help you easily share files and printers between the computers. For instance, you can connect your home printer from your computer and take a print out from any of your other computers at home. This is possible just by joining homegroup that is present in your Windows operating device. Windows 10, the new operating system  supports Homegroup functionality that allow you to share files between Windows 10 and other supported versions like Windows 7 and Windows 8.
Step 1: Initially, click on Start on your Windows 10 device.
Step2: Type Homegroup in the Search box and hit enter.

Step 3: Click on Homegroup option that appears in your search results.
Step 4: If in case, your computer is already hosting a Homegroup, you will be able to see the option “Join Now” in  the HomeGroup dialog box as shown below:

Note: If you are don’t have HomeGroup already setup on your computer, then you need to create a new HomeGroup.
Step 5: Now, click on Join Now option so that you will be joined in a new HomeGroup. It will then display other computers that are available within your home network so that you can easily share files among them.

Step 6: Now, you need to click on Next if you wish to share files on printers with other computers via HomeGroup.

Step 7: Now, select the files like pictures, videos, music files, documents and other printers and devices that you wish to share with others on different computers.
Step 8: After selecting particular files, you can share it with other devices. To continue, Click Next.
Step 9: Now, you will be directed to a new page where you need to enter a homegroup password that prevents unauthorized access to homegroup files and printers.

Step 10: Suppose, if you are joining a Homegroup which is created on another computer, you will need to obtain the password from the administrator of that computer. The computer name and username will be displayed on the screen so that you can ask the relevant person for the password.
